Welcome to Yoctofind.com!

Description/Objective of this Website

This website aims to provide true information on the future of science and technology and on what our future might be like from a micro and macro perspective. So you must be wondering why the site is called yoctofind.com then if it also deals with the macro perspective. Well simply because the micro and macro perspective of matter and things are really interlinked, thus one could not talk about the micro perspective without talking about the macro perspective and vice-versa.

New sources of Energy

The way nuclear power is used today for power and energy is similar to the early days of the invention of the internal combustion engine. Much of the energy is loss to heat and radiation. A better way of harnessing the power of matter is by converting every electron with 100% efficiency into electricity which can be used to power everything from our cars to our homes and appliances.

We are missing out on the biggest opportunity of all sources of energy and that is renewable matter. Take for instance a high powered magnet. It has a positive pole and a negative pole. This could directly be converted into electricity as most generators illustrate today. However, most generators today are inefficient because they only capture a fraction of the particles moving from the positive pole to the negative pole and vice-versa. A high powered Neodymium Iron Boron magnet could power an LED light for several hundreds of years running at 100% efficiency. With a powerful magnetic energy generating energy, you could also power a car that could literally drive around the world nonstop without the need to refuel or reenergize, assuming all of the continents were connected around the world of course.

Real life "Star-Trek Like Replicators" - What I call Subatomic Assemblers

These machines like the "Replicators" and "Transporters" on the science fictional TV and movie series Star Trek would be able to convert energy in the form of electricity into matter. I believe this is not only possible, I believe we will eventually have enough computing power to create such machines within the next couple of centuries, if Moores Law continues at it's current pace.

Subatomic Assemblers would be able to create any element and any form of matter from the gain in efficiencies of energies discussed above. This would largely eliminate the need for manufacturing on the medium scale, as most objects and basic necessities like food, clothing, water, and anything else that could be programmed in a computer, even living creatures, as long as you have enough energy or raw materials to convert into energy.

A View and Journery into our Entire Universe

Since the micro perspective is interlinked with the macro perspective, one could not take a journey into the Universe without a map or view of our entire Universe.

A View of our Entire Universe from the outside might look like the following

Space and Matter

Space and Matter are the two constituients of our Universe. While space is infinite, the total sum of the matter in the entire Universe is Finite as derived from Newton's Laws of Physics - "Matter is Neither Created Nor Destroyed."; Matter may be broken down into it's two smallest components, the positive or repulsive force and the negative or attractive force. Talk about Gluons, Heptons, and other basic particles found by particle physicists only consists of the positive and negative forces, the most basic fundamental building blocks of all matter. In this respect, matter can almost infinitely be broken down into ever smaller and smaller charged particles, just like you can slice a loaf of bread ever smaller and smaller, even the crumbs. There is a very, very, very fine line between the smallest particle of matter and free space.

The Speed Limit of the Universe

Some of you may say from Einstein's observations, that the speed of light is the Speed Limit of the Universe, however, I find this statement to be false according to Newton's First Law of Motion - "F=ma." Since there is only a Finite amount of mass in the Universe, the amount of Force and acceleration and speed an object can achieve is limited to this restriction. This speed limit, however, is far greater than the speed of light. Otherwise if there were infinite amount of matter and energy in the Universe, the Speed limit of the Universe would be Infinite.

Forms and Diversity of Matter

There are literally infinite ways matter exists throughout the Universe. I believe there is life as we know it other than on our planet Earth in the Universe. Matter exists as Energy, the 181+ Elements in the Periodic Table of the Elements, and can exist in almost any Unique and Odd and Awe-Inspiring form that would surprise almost anyone. What we humans, as the dominant species on planet Earth, chose to do with matter raises some questions. To what degree do we want to artificially create life, new products, alter life forms, advanced technologies? These may be moral questions that are outside the scope of this website.

On the matter of creating Fusion for Power

Creating a release of energy by splitting the atom or Nuclear power is the only means by which the sum of the output energy produced is greater than the input energy. By fusing 2 or more atoms, energy is conserved rather than released, thus creating a solely Fusion reactor would not generate significant, if any power.

On the Existence of Black Holes in the Universe

This seems to me a far reaching idea, that there is an infinitely small point in space with infinite mass. The center of the Milky Way galaxy, for example, merely consists of space and possibly some matter, by which planets and clusters of stars and planets and other forms of matter gather around.

On the idea of achieving Warp speed and bending the space time grid

Unfortunately, the space time grid that Einstein envisioned is purely theoretical and although all that we know of today is that you can only be at one place at one specifc time, I find it highly unlikely you would be able to bend space time like a piece of paper and arrive at a farther distance in a smaller amount of time. Again, the laws of physics as of this writing, simply do not allow this to happen. Time travel is also purely science fiction. Sure the faster you travel, the slower everything else seems to be moving, but this in itself is not time travel, merely an piece of matter achieving higher velocity.

List of Future Progressive Companies

OCZ Technology (OCZ)- OCZ Technology is changing the way we store Nonvolatile Data with their use of Flash memory as the primary memory type in their PCI Express and SATA Solid State Drives.

Verizon (VZ)- Verizon is pushing the limits of the speed of data by offering Internet connections using the current fastest type of medium: optical fiber or Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH).

Tesla Motors (TSLA)- Tesla Motors has finally changed the way we think of Automobiles by bringing real life practical cars and roadsters propelled by nonpolluting electricity.

IBM Corporation (IBM)- IBM is researching and developing the next generation type computing chip by using optics (photons) instead of electricity to compute. There are still some major hurdles to overcome in building a complete high speed optical chip, such as timing and photon storage, but I am sure these obsticles will be overcome with further Research.

3D Systems (DDD)- 3D Systems has been developing 3D printing technologies for over 25 years and has announced a practical 3D printer called the Cube for the SOHO. The price is only $1,200 for the Cube.

Autodesk (ADSK)- AutoDesk has been developing 2D/3D AutoCAD Software for over 25 years and is the premier Computer-Aided Design Software company.

Micron (MU)- Micron has been developing next generation volatile and non-volatile memories for computers for over 30 years. Some Non-volatile memory types that could replace Flash include PRAM, NRAM(Not developed by Micron), and MRAM(Also not developed by Micron).

Intel Corporation (INTC)- Intel almost single handedly grew the computing industry and information age at the exponential rate we are progressing at today from the 1970's. Known for following Moore's Law, Computing power may eventually become powerful enough to make Subatomic Assemblers.

NVidia (NVDA)- Nvidia is advancing Computing power by creating everything from small, energy efficient graphics and instruction processing units to large scale computing clusters for supercomputers.

<Monsanto Company (MON)- Monsanto is constantly Genetically engineering food staples to grow better with higher yields.
